Axel Jansson
Heading up his 4-piece band, the London via Sweden singer-songwriter and guitarist, Axel Jansson delivers an eruption of hook-heavy, rhythmic melodies paired with the unrestrained raw essence of early rock, often garnering comparisons to Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty but it’s his expressive and unusual voice that really sets him apart.
Axel was drawn to music when he started to explore his father’s record collection as a child, absorbing and soaking up the sounds of the 60’s and 70’s which he pays tribute to in his own unique blend of alternative rock.
Previous singles have attracted attention from The Metro, The Mirror, The Sun & Huffington Post and led to GigSlutz declaring him “a hugely exciting artist". His 2nd single ‘Two Of A Kind’ received Record Of The Week on Tim Cocker’s Virgin Radio show and tipped by Record Of The Day. The most recent single, ‘Everything I Crave’ is out now with a new video featuring Paralympian Cassie Cava.
Axel’s first gig with a full band was supporting Turin Breaks, and they were soon selected to play the Indie Week Europe Festival. Since then he has toured with the Coffee House Sessions, The Foodies Festivals for 2 years running and performed 2 acoustic sets at Glastonbury 2017. Axel regularly plays headline shows in his hometown of London.
Axel is currently recording a batch of new material for his debut album, ‘Weight Of The World’.
